Here's the recipe btw:
Rice:
- Wash 2 cups of rice as usual then pour in 2 1/2 cups of coconut milk together with some gingers, black peppercorns (lada hitam), and knotted pandan leaves and a lil bit of salt to taste.. cook as usual and dun bother about it till everything else is ready *grin*
Sambal Ikan Bilis:
- Wash and fry some anchovies and put aside.
- Next, in the pan, shallow-fry the chilli paste (cili boh).
- Put in some tamarind juice (air asam jawa), salt and sugar to taste.
- Let it boil then put in the fried anchovies.. stir well.. u can add sum sliced potatoes if u want.
- Then.. finish lor! *winks*
Serving:
Serve the rice with sambal ikan bilis, hard-boiled egg, peanuts and cucumber slice (not in pic).
